Cancer Screening Tests
Cancer screening--or looking for signs of cancer in adults--saves lives. It is particularly effective for three types of cancer: colorectal cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer. Cancer screening requires a visit to your primary care doctor, who will perform--or will have another healthcare professional perform--tests that were developed to find these types of cancer. Each screening test is different and is recommended for different people at different times, depending on your gender, age, family medical history, and certain lifestyle choices (such as what you eat, how active you are, and if you smoke).
